At Ray Behavior Consulting, we offer a specialized suite of services designed to support families and individuals in every stage of skill acquisition. While the descriptions below outline our core offerings, we believe that true progress happens when therapy is as unique as the person receiving it. Because we are an Expert-Led Intervention, every program we develop is built from the ground up and uniquely tailored to match the specific needs, strengths, and goals of each individual client.
If you are new to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), you might hear about models where a supervisor creates a plan and a junior technician carries it out. We do things differently. At our practice, we provide Direct BCBA Support. This means there are no entry-level staff or "student learners" working with your child. Instead, every single hour of therapy is provided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)—a professional with a Master’s degree and extensive clinical expertise.
What this looks like for your child:
Think of it as the difference between a student teacher and a seasoned professor. Because your therapist is an expert, the sessions don't feel like "drills." They feel like a natural, supportive interaction where every moment is used to help your child grow.
Sophisticated Play: We use your child’s favorite toys and activities to teach vital skills like communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
No "Wait and See": Because an expert is doing the work, we don't have to wait for a weekly meeting to fix a problem. If your child is struggling, your BCBA adjusts the approach right then and there.
A Focus on Connection: We prioritize building a relationship of trust. When a child feels understood by an expert, they learn faster and with less frustration.
What this looks like for you:
Direct Access: You aren't getting updates from a middleman. You speak directly to the specialist who is working with your child every day.
Total Confidence: You can rest easy knowing that the person sitting on the floor with your child has the highest level of certification and training available in the field.
Simplicity: No rotating cast of different staff members in and out of your home. Just one dedicated expert who truly knows your child.
The Bottom Line
We believe that children with unique learning needs deserve the most experienced minds. By removing the traditional "technician" layer, we provide a more precise, efficient, and compassionate form of therapy that focuses on quality over quantity.
You are the most important person in your child’s life. While we work directly with your child, the goal of Caregiver Coaching is to ensure that the progress we make during our sessions doesn’t stop when we leave the room.
Because we do not use entry-level technicians, you aren’t being coached by a student. You are working side-by-side with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to learn the "why" behind your child’s actions and the "how" behind helping them thrive.
What Coaching Looks Like in Action: We don’t just give you a packet of papers to read. We respond to challenges with you.
Real-Life Practice: We join you during the "tough" times of day—like the bedtime routine, grocery store trips, or mealtime—to show you exactly how to handle challenges as they happen.
Simple, Powerful Tools: We help you replace "parenting by trial and error" with proven strategies. This might include using visual schedules, learning how to give instructions that your child actually hears, or setting up your home environment to encourage independence.
Active Troubleshooting: If a new behavior pops up on a Saturday, you don't have to wonder what to do. At our next coaching session, we analyze it together and create a plan immediately.
Why This Matters:
Confidence, Not Stress: Our goal is to reduce your stress, not add to it. We want you to feel confident that you can handle a meltdown or a communication barrier without needing a therapist standing next to you.
Consistency is Key: Children learn best when the expectations of their world stay the same. When you and your BCBA are using the same strategies, your child learns much faster.
Long-Term Success: The ultimate goal of ABA is for your child to no longer need professional support. By coaching you, we are giving your family the tools to be successful for a lifetime.
A Note to Parents: We aren't here to judge your parenting or tell you you're doing it "wrong." We are here to share our clinical expertise so that you can feel Informed, empowered, connected, and supported in your journey.
If you’ve ever had a school evaluation, you might be used to seeing long reports filled with scores that compare your child to "the average." Our Personalized Assessment is different. It’s not a standardized test; it’s a deep dive into who your child is as a person.
Because this is an Expert-Led Intervention, your BCBA doesn’t just look at what your child can’t do. We spend time playing and interacting with them to understand:
Their Strengths: What do they love? What makes them smile? We use these "superpowers" to build their learning plan.
The "Why" Behind Behavior: Instead of just seeing a tantrum, an expert looks for the message. Is your child trying to tell us they are overwhelmed? Are they asking for a break? We decode these messages so we can teach them better ways to communicate.
A Practical Path Forward: We create a "roadmap" of goals that actually matter to your daily life—like being able to go to a birthday party, communicate a need at the park, or follow a morning routine without a struggle.
We know that we are only one piece of the puzzle. Your child may also work with speech therapists (SLPs), occupational therapists (OTs), or school teachers. In many traditional models, these professionals never speak to each other, which can leave you feeling like you're stuck in the middle of conflicting advice.
Our Expert-Led Intervention includes proactive Team Collaboration. We act as the "bridge" between all the people supporting your child to ensure:
One Clear Message: We make sure everyone is using the same strategies. If we are working on a specific way to help your child ask for help, we share that with their teacher and other therapists so your child doesn't get confused.
Advocacy and Support: Your BCBA can attend school meetings (IEPs) or consult with your pediatrician to provide a professional, data-driven perspective on your child’s progress and needs.
Shared Wins: When the whole team is talking, we can solve problems faster. If your OT sees a breakthrough in fine motor skills, we can immediately incorporate that into our ABA sessions.
